Setting up of Knowledge Management Center to Develop Modernization of Irrigation in Indonesia (Case Study: Bedegolan Irrigation System)

Knowledge management is important related to irrigation management for attaining sustainability. The aim of this study was to setting up of knowledge management center towards modernization in Indonesia, by examining need and sharing knowledge among stakeholders and strategy to increase knowledge management. This study was conducted in Bedegolan irrigation system which located in Kebumen District, Central Java, Indonesia. Semi-structured interviews were used to collect qualitative and quantitative data from 30 farmers in Bedegolan irrigation system. In depth interview and focus group discussion (FGD) also conducted in this study. This study resulted that types of knowledge consist of law; ministerial, local, and district regulation; Memorandum of Understanding (MoU); flow of fund; infrastructures; human resources; planting plan; empowerment; planting data; and water data. Sharing method of knowledge among stakeholder was held by statute law, assignment, regular meeting, and document. Knowledge database in UPTD Bedegolan need to re-manage. Improvement of human resources and facilities is the key to increase their capability to manage knowledge among stakeholders.
